Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the assembly of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort;

ܗܘ ܕܡܒܝܐ ܠܢ ܒܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܘܠܨܢܝܢ ܕܐܦ ܚܢܢ ܢܫܟܚ ܢܒܝܐ ܠܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܒܟܠ ܐܘܠܨܢܝܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܒܗܘ ܒܘܝܐܐ ܕܚܢܢ ܡܬܒܝܐܝܢܢ ܡܢ ܐܠܗܐ
hw dmby' ln bklhwn 'wltsnyn d'p khnn nshkkh nby' l'ylyn dbkl 'wltsnyn 'nwn bhw bwy'' dkhnn mthby'ynn mn 'lh'
who comforts us in all our affliction, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, through the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܓܝܪ ܕܡܬܝܬܪܝܢ ܒܢ ܚܫܘܗܝ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܒܝܕ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܡܬܝܬܪ ܐܦ ܒܘܝܐܢ

For as the sufferings of Christ abound to us, even so our comfort also abounds through Christ.

ܐܦܢ ܕܝܢ ܡܬܐܠܨܝܢܢ ܥܠ ܐܦܝ ܒܘܝܐܟܘܢ ܗܘ ܘܥܠ ܐܦܝ ܚܝܝܟܘܢ ܡܬܐܠܨܝܢܢ ܘܐܢ ܡܬܒܝܐܝܢܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܬܒܝܐܘܢ ܘܬܗܘܐ ܒܟܘܢ ܚܦܝܛܘܬܐ ܕܬܣܝܒܪܘܢ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܚܫܐ ܗܢܘܢ ܕܐܦ ܚܢܢ ܚܫܝܢܢ ܠܗܘܢ

But if we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation. If we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you the patient enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

ܘܣܒܪܢ ܕܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܫܪܝܪ ܗܘ ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܢ ܫܘܬܦܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܒܚܫܐ ܫܘܬܦܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܦ ܒܒܘܝܐܐ
wsbrn delykwn shryr hw ydeynn gyr d'n shwthpyn 'nthwn bkhsh' shwthpyn 'nthwn 'p bbwy''
Our hope for you is steadfast, knowing that, since you are partakers of the sufferings, so also are you of the comfort.

ܨܒܝܢܢ ܕܝܢ ܕܬܕܥܘܢ ܐܚܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܘܠܨܢܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܠܢ ܒܐܣܝܐ ܕܪܘܪܒܐܝܬ ܐܬܐܠܨܢ ܝܬܝܪ ܡܢ ܚܝܠܢ ܥܕܡܐ ܕܩܪܝܒܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܚܝܝܢ ܠܡܬܛܠܩܘ
tsbynn dyn dthdewn 'khyn el 'wltsn' dhw' ln b'sy' drwrb'yth 'th'ltsn ythyr mn khyln edm' dqrybyn hww khyyn lmthTlqw
For we don’t desire to have you uninformed, brothers, concerning our affliction which happened to us in Asia, that we were weighed down exceedingly, beyond our power, so much that we despaired even of life.

ܘܥܠ ܢܦܫܢ ܦܣܩܢ ܡܘܬܐ ܕܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܠܢ ܬܘܟܠܢܐ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܢ ܐܠܐ ܥܠ ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܕܡܩܝܡ ܡܝܬܐ

Yes, we ourselves have had the sentence of death within ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead,

ܗܘ ܕܡܢ ܡܘܬܐ ܚܣܝܢܐ ܦܪܩܢ ܘܬܘܒ ܡܣܒܪܝܢܢ ܕܦܪܩ ܠܢ

who delivered us out of so great a death, and does deliver; on whom we have set our hope that he will also still deliver us;

ܒܡܥܕܪܢܘܬܐ ܕܒܥܘܬܟܘܢ ܕܥܠ ܐܦܝܢ ܕܬܗܘܐ ܡܘܗܒܬܗ ܕܠܘܬܢ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܕܥܒܝܕܐ ܒܐܦܝ ܣܓܝܐܐ ܘܣܓܝܐܐ ܢܘܕܘܢ ܠܗ ܥܠ ܐܦܝܢ

you also helping together on our behalf by your supplication; that, for the gift given to us by means of many, thanks may be given by many persons on your behalf.

ܫܘܒܗܪܢ ܓܝܪ ܗܢܘ ܣܗܕܘܬܐ ܕܪܥܝܢܢ ܕܒܦܫܝܛܘܬܐ ܘܒܕܟܝܘܬܐ ܘܒܛܝܒܘܬܐ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܐܬܗܦܟܢ ܒܥܠܡܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܚܟܡܬܐ ܕܦܓܪܐ ܘܝܬܝܪܐܝܬ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܕܝܠܟܘܢ

For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom but in the grace of God we behaved ourselves in the world, and more abundantly toward you.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܚܪܢܝܢ ܟܬܒܝܢܢ ܠܟܘܢ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܝܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܐܦ ܡܫܬܘܕܥܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܟܝܠ ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܥܕܡܐ ܠܐܚܪܝܬܐ ܬܫܬܘܕܥܘܢ
l' hw' 'khrnyn kthbynn lkwn 'l' 'ylyn dydeyn 'nthwn 'p mshthwdeyn 'nthwn thkyl 'n' dyn dedm' l'khryth' thshthwdewn
For we write no other things to you, than what you read or even acknowledge, and I hope you will acknowledge to the end;

ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܦ ܐܫܬܘܕܥܬܘܢ ܩܠܝܠ ܡܢ ܣܓܝ ܕܫܘܒܗܪܟܘܢ ܚܢܢ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܦ ܐܢܬܘܢ ܕܝܠܢ ܒܝܘܡܗ ܕܡܪܢ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ

as also you acknowledged us in part, that we are your boasting, even as you also are ours, in the day of our Lord Jesus.

ܘܒܗܢܐ ܬܘܟܠܢܐ ܨܒܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܡܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܕܐܬܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܕܐܥܝܦܐܝܬ ܬܩܒܠܘܢ ܛܝܒܘܬܐ

In this confidence, I was determined to come first to you, that you might have a second benefit;

ܘܐܥܒܪ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܠܡܩܕܘܢܝܐ ܘܬܘܒ ܡܢ ܡܩܕܘܢܝܐ ܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܐܬܐ ܘܐܢܬܘܢ ܬܠܘܘܢܢܝ ܠܝܗܘܕ

and by you to pass into Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and to be sent forward by you on my journey to Judea.

ܗܕܐ ܗܟܝܠ ܕܐܬܪܥܝܬ ܠܡܐ ܐܝܟ ܡܣܪܗܒܐ ܐܬܪܥܝܬ ܐܘ ܕܠܡܐ ܕܒܣܪ ܐܢܝܢ ܐܝܠܝܢ ܕܡܬܪܥܐ ܐܢܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܘܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܒܗܝܢ ܐܝܢ ܐܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܠܐ
hd' hkyl d'threyth lm' 'yk msrhb' 'threyth 'w dlm' dbsr 'nyn 'ylyn dmthre' 'n' mTl dwl' hw' dnhw' bhyn 'yn 'yn wl' l'
When I therefore was thus determined, did I show fickleness? Or the things that I purpose, do I purpose according to the flesh, that with me there should be the “Yes, yes” and the “No, no?”

ܡܗܝܡܢ ܗܘ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܠܐ ܗܘܬ ܡܠܬܢ ܕܠܘܬܟܘܢ ܐܝܢ ܘܠܐ

But as God is faithful, our word toward you was not “Yes and no.”

ܒܪܗ ܓܝܪ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܘ ܕܒܐܝܕܢ ܐܬܟܪܙ ܠܟܘܢ ܒܝ ܘܒܣܠܘܢܘܣ ܘܒܛܝܡܬܐܘܣ ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܐܝܢ ܘܠܐ ܐܠܐ ܐܝܢ ܗܘܐ ܒܗ
brh gyr d'lh' yshwe mshykh' hw db'ydn 'thkrz lkwn by wbslwnws wbTymth'ws l' hw' 'yn wl' 'l' 'yn hw' bh
For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, by me, Silvanus, and Timothy, was not “Yes and no,” but in him is “Yes.”

ܟܠܗܘܢ ܓܝܪ ܡܘܠܟܢܘܗܝ ܕܐܠܗܐ ܒܗ ܗܘ ܒܡܫܝܚܐ ܐܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܡܛܠ ܗܢܐ ܒܐܝܕܗ ܝܗܒܝܢܢ ܐܡܝܢ ܠܬܫܒܘܚܬܗ ܕܐܠܗܐ

For however many are the promises of God, in him is the “Yes.” Therefore also through him is the “Amen”, to the glory of God through us.

ܐܠܗܐ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܡܫܪܪ ܠܢ ܥܡܟܘܢ ܒܡܫܝܚܐ ܗܘ ܕܗܘ ܡܫܚܢ

Now he who establishes us with you in Christ, and anointed us, is God;

ܘܚܬܡܢ ܘܝܗܒ ܪܗܒܘܢܐ ܕܪܘܚܗ ܒܠܒܘܬܢ
wkhthmn wyhb rhbwn' drwkhh blbwthn
who also sealed us, and gave us the down payment of the Spirit in our hearts.

ܐܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܠܐܠܗܐ ܡܣܗܕ ܐܢܐ ܥܠ ܢܦܫܝ ܕܡܛܠ ܕܚܐܣ ܐܢܐ ܥܠܝܟܘܢ ܠܐ ܐܬܝܬ ܠܩܘܪܢܬܘܣ

But I call God for a witness to my soul, that I didn’t come to Corinth to spare you.

ܠܐ ܗܘܐ ܡܛܠ ܕܡܪܝ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܟܘܢ ܚܢܢ ܐܠܐ ܡܥܕܪܢܐ ܚܢܢ ܕܚܕܘܬܟܘܢ ܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܩܝܡܝܢ ܐܢܬܘܢ
l' hw' mTl dmry hymnwthkwn khnn 'l' medrn' khnn dkhdwthkwn bhymnwth' hw gyr qymyn 'nthwn
Not that we control your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.
